Gets, I'm looking to get more out of my 2002 v6, I've already put in a CAI and im upgrading the exhaust sometime inthe next month, but after that...whats next? I don't want to lose mpg like you would with gears, and I don't have the money for a blower. What were the first few mods to your stangs so I can get some ideas..?

tuner, and you'd be caught up to me.. auto or manual? you could do a shift kit for auto or short throw shifter if you're a manual

You're not going to get any significant gains without loosing mileage. Maybe 3 HP and .25 mpg from pullies. A T5 swap on the other hand would get you about 2 mpg gain and maybe 20 HP more to the tires. Gears can sometimes improve mileage during city driving.

best tune you can buy is from a dyno facility. most popular tuner is an SCT tuner most dynos use their software.. but going to a dyno is kind of questionable at your stage of mods cuz I'm not sure its worth it to do that over just getting a tuner with a "custom" tune

Yeah I doubt it'd be worth the dyno trip, besides the CAI and incoming exhaust I'm stock. What about some of the handhelds from AM? or is the SCT better?

AM sells the SCT tuners, their tuning department (bama) is pretty dang good, don't listen to the bs about not daily driving the race tune, I have been for a while and I actually prefer that compared to the performance tune, the more responsive the better, bama has a video out right now for the 99-04 V6 on the dyno when they made the tune for it and it gained 10 peak hp&tq through an AUTO!! And that car was bone stock

Damn, sounds like what I want...lol I'll look into it. Also on the ratchet shifters mentioned earlier, I can't find any for the New Era stangs, only the newer models. Anyone got a link?

Hey Chris, I went back to find that video for him on YouTube about dyno tuning the new edge v6 stang but now it won't show up, not even in my history, have I just completely lost my mind? Would you possibly be able to pull it up on your end? I remember it was about 4-5 minutes long I think...

Oh and psyhco, don't forget to pm one of the am people about getting your discount code before you buy the tuner!

Trick Tuners

I've had tunes from both....

How much money do you want to spend on the car?

Already got me code, should save a bit. Thanks.

@ESG-642T I'm 16 and pulling around 300 a week, so at the moment I'm going a to have a bit of spare cash lying around, minus gas and insurance etc. As for exact numbers, I'm not sure yet, just kind of finding a goal and saving for it one part at a time. First up is new tires, might look into rims while im at it so i can move up to a 18" or 17". Then I'll swap exhaust for a divorced dual setup with flowmaster 44's. But this is all in the future so who knows...

A $400 dollar tune seems a little...excessive. Especially to my parents, who have to approve all my purchases.

Save your money, go to college, get a good job and then come see us. Aside from minor bolt ons v6 modding can get really expensive fast. Especially when you get bit by the speed bug
