well said, the 3v engine is better than the 03 mach1 4v, and its better than any 2v NA engine....

the only thing thats better in a 4v supercharged engine VS 3v supercharged engine is the more linear power band...but the 3v engine peaks more power with equal boost and mods...
Dude, get your head out of your butt! The 03/04 4V heads outflow all current production 3V heads, and can be tuned to maintain peak horsepower beyond 7k rpms on pump gas! The 2010 3V is about as good as it's going to get. Hence Ford going back to a 4V head design with Coyote 5.0 in 2011. You notice they didn't put a 3V in the Shelby GT500, did they?

first off, the 2010 is the same engine....nothing much different other than the crank pulley, and intake manifold....

and the the mach1 from 2003-2004 dished out a whopping 305 hp, and the 3v engine has 300-315 hp...so obviously we can see here...

its more efficient than previous engines...
First off Einstein, what I meant by the 2010 being as good as it's going to get, is that the 3v motor is being replaced in the Mustang GT by a 4v in 2011, got it now?

Secondly, the Mach 1 motor was way underrated by Ford at 305hp. So much so, that they seriously considered upping the advertised horsepower rating in 2004 to 310hp, and even had some marketing materials made up with the higher number. If you want I can show you my stock dyno sheet, where I put down 297rwhp and about 320rwtq on a DynoJet SAE corrected. Allowing for a 15% drivetrain parasitic power loss, that's about 349 horsepower at the flywheel (297 / .85 = 341.41). I also have my timeslip from the track, where my BONE STOCK Mach 1 turned a 13.1 @105 and change. Show me a stock 05-09 Mustang GT 3v that can produce those kinds of numbers right off the showroom floor.

car and driver, and motor trend both have the 05+ gt running 13.5...

number 2 the 3v mustang is severly detuned...a cold air intake and tune puts the 05+ GT around 340hp...

there are guys in this forum running 13 flat with just an intake and a tune...

the 05+ GT is a beast that was detuned by ford for emissions and law requirements...

and by no means is a new edge mustang better looking....thats a laugh and a half...
You're just grasping at straws now. I said bone stock off the showroom floor, not with a CAI, and a tune, bone stock. And if an 05+ GT could muster 340hp, they wouldn't be getting their butts kicked by 10 year old LS1 fbody cars.

If the 3v mod motor was all that efficient, Ford wouldn't be dumping it after only five model years, and replacing it with a much more efficient 4 valve motor, now would they? Ever since the introduction of the modular motor, the 4 valve, DOHC version has always been Fords goto motor for high performance applications, and that hasn't changed. When you look in the FRPP Catalog for high performance 4.6L mod motor crate engines, you see the Aluminator 4v DOHC as the preferred option.

but dont they have an 'S' number for ur body style?? S128 maybe?? all i truly know is my 98 is an SN95... but funny thing i seen today on Steeda, is that they consider 94-04 parts all for SN95 mustangs??:headscratch: i thought i had it right but after this stuff im now confused
All 1994-2004 Mustangs ARE SN-95's. It doesn't really refer to the body style, it's the chassis. And they are all built on the Fox-4 chassis platform.

i know bullit that there aint a single body panel that is exactly the same, lol if there was, then what would be the point in "changing body styles" lol i aint lookin for an argument dude by no means lol im just saying, they DO look an awful lot alike... and with just a simple pair of headlights, i think the "aero" models look a lot more "aggressive" and the aggressive look is what appeals to me IMO not so much classy pretty and stylish...:bigthumbsup
I have to disagree with your assessment. I owned both a 1994 and a 1998 Mustang GT, and now a 2003 Mach 1, and the 94-98 models were just too rounded and curvy to be considered "aggressive."

The Mach 1 could never have been pulled off successfully without the muscular flared wheel wells and angular body creases of the 98-04 New Edge style, it would have looked too "girly" in the early body style. Having said that, I do think a Mach 1 would look super in the current S197 model!

And when you put the two versions side by side with one another, you can clearly see that they are totally different from each other, front to back and side to side, they don't resemble each other at all.
