What's your gas milage?

I have the stock 05 V6 and a bit concerned about the gas consumtion this baby is sucking in. It's hotter the the gates of hell here in Memphis and when I turn on the AC unit I can actually watch the gas gage go down as I'm driving. I drove the car for the first half tank and extimated approximately 16 miles a gallon. Then I drove with the AC off but could only manage to sweat out a quarter tank before turning on the AC again and extimated about 20 miles a gallon. The only Mod I've done to the engine is the K&N airfilter and cat back dual Magnaflow exhaust. I mean really, does the AC unit really pull the motor down that much. The window sticker (And I know it's estimated in the most PERFECT environment) states 19-28mpg. I'll never see anything close to 28mpg. What are you getting. I'm taking the car back to the dealer to have it put on the diagostic machine and see if it's tuned right. Would a SCT X-Cal Accel 2 help improve the gas milage at all and HP? Thanks :help:

Yeah, it does. The engine accessories are designed for a much bigger car. Pick up a set of underdriver pulleys, and you'll see a pretty good jump in MPGs. It takes around 5 mins to cool down on a hot day, as opposed to immediately, but the increase in power and MPGs are a pretty good tradeoff as far as I'm concerned.

I get 35 MPG traveling between 60-65 mph, around 28-30 at 80-84 mph.

The Underdrivers bumped me around 3mpg. I picked up 2 or so with the CAI, and I picked up another 2-3 by running max pressure as indicated on the sidewalls of the tire.

All of those will increase your mileage.
Where did you get your underdrive pulleys? also I've seen the word CAI thrown around for some time and now have the nads to ask What is CAI?

Sorry, Duh! I knew that :) just couldn't nail down the acronym. I've been searching the net for the underdrive pulleys and can't locate a set for the V6, anything you can find would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
