You mean means MPG. :smartass:
hahaha sorry my bad.. i meant MPG :gringreen
I usually average 20-22 but that is almost all local driving, if i drive like a moron and race away from every light and rev the engine up to 6K frequently then yes the MPG goes down significantly more.
In the last six months, I've AVERAGED 18.35026 MPG with my 2009 GT.

However, I've hit a high of 20.20997 MPG on one tank (first road trip), and a low of 16.69857 MPG on a different tank (was in a parade, so my MPG suffered on this tank).

That being said, I have two ponts:
  1. Your 2011 V6 MPG should be much better than my 2009 GT MPG -- always. Something is wrong, and has always been wrong if you are getting the MPG you are stating.
  2. You will get some varying MPG numbers on each tank -- just because different things happen when you drive. Sometimes you might "goose it" a little harder than other times, and that will affect your mpg...

Disconnect the negative battery cable for about ten minutes to reset your ecu and see if it gets better. I'd try this before taking it to the dealer.:smoke:
Are you getting these numbers from the message center? I used to calculate my mpg manually and now i have an app for it (fuel log on my Droid razr) and my calculations have always been higher than my message center. I average about 18.55 mpg with an airaid CAI mostly because i have a lot driving in traffic. My best has been 19.82 and worst 15.99. Those numbers have been since i started using the app. I'd guess i averaged about 21 mpg in the summer when I didn't have to sit in school traffic every morning. Oh and that 15.99 is from sitting in my car for an hour with the engine running to charge my phone during hurricane Isaac so anything less than that and something is severely wrong lol

thanks for sharing :wavey

OP did you change gas stations and/or do you get gas at the same place all of the time? It is not unknown for a pump to be rigged to read more gas has been pumped than has.

How long has the 13 MPH :shigrin problem been going on?
haha MPH :) it's been two weeks i guess...

ops i'm pretty sure ive been getting gas from the same gas station! that's likely the reason :?:
Oh yeah i always run 87 octane from Chevron
Just throwin that out there:wavey
My 2012 GT now has a bit under 6000 miles on it and I'm averaging a tick over 17 MPG (hand calculated) since new, with about a 70-30 split between city and highway driving. Unless you have an awfully heavy right foot, 13 MPG for a V6 seems much too low.
I got a 2013 V6 and I drive mostly in Atlanta (which is mostly stop and go traffic), and I getting a average of 23 mpg.
17-18 2012 v6. Message center has never showed 20

This is a GREAT point, and something I completely failed to mention in my last post.

All my previously posted numbers were HAND CALCULATED. My message center typically shows about 1 MPG BETTER than the hand calculation. I do not trust the message center MPG.

I think the computer is tracking how much fuel it is squirting into the engine, but each "squirt" is such a small amount, the "percent deviation" can be huge.

So -- you should be tracking how many GALLONS you are putting into the car when you fuel up, and how many MILES you actually drove while using those gallons -- MPG is easy to calculate after that.

Interesting point -- my spreadsheet tracks all kinds of things, including the ODOMETER miles and the TRIPOMETER miles -- these two numbers are usually off by 0.1 miles. Kind of strange, eh?

EVERY TIME you fill up, you really should be using the same PUMP, at the same gas station, with your car facing the same direction. This way, the "maximum filling point" is the same each time, and you have no deviation in your data.

I usually put the pump on "auto fill" -- when it clicks off, I "top it off" until it clicks one time, and then I'm done.

Whatever your fueling method is, make sure it is exactly the same each time to get good data.

I drive 400 miles a week, 80% highway cruising in 6th at 80 MPH. With my 2.73s it's about 1900 RPMs. I average 28.5MPG manually calculated. The computer says 26 - 27.5.
Over the weekend I had some fun and it dropped to 23MPG :)
