Im looking into getting an H-pipe for my car because the heat shields on the cats are rattling and its driving me nuts. So instead of going the cheap route and have them re-welded im just going to replace it with an off-road h-pipe.

I was going to get a BBK but the price of the summit brand is enticing. Has anybody here used the summit H-pipe? It would be nice to save $60 but I don't want to buy a p.o.s. H-pipe.

Here's what im looking at:

BBK - BBK Performance 1507 - BBK CNC Series Off-Road Race H-Pipes - Overview - SummitRacing.com

Hey... I just installed the very same off road, H pipe from Summit on my 87GT. At the same time, I've installed the 2.5" American Thunder Super 44s exhaust. I think the combination is great. I had absolutely no problem with the H pipe from Summit. Fit right, well made, it was a snap to install. No exhaust leaks at all. That's why I bought it too... Cost less, and works awesome. :bigthumbsup Not sure if this helps you any, but here is a small video of my car's cold start in the garage after the install...

Don't buy the piece of crap summit h pipe. It's a hit or miss. I've had one twice, the first one was fine but the second is giving me so many problems now and it's poorly bent and made. I've had to bend, heat, weld, cut, grind this thing and there is still an exhaust leak so it's just not worth the time and money.

Mac is a really good brand. They have the best fit and deep sound. Just make sure you get the coated one so you don't deal with rust.

MAC and BBK are about the same and should be okay for most builds but I do prefer MAC as fitment for me has always been better.
