Open the trunk. Look at the cover protecting the driver's side taillight. There will be a red button. Push that button.
Why exactly would someone have to reset their fuel pump for? Or is it actually a shutoff switch so the fuel stops pumping all together?

thanks man! hit the button now it starts but is very sluggish what do you think the problem could be?
What happened to your car that the button was tripped? Usually it trips due to an accident.
Would the procedure be the same for a 2003 Mustang Gt? I replaced the fuel puimp and the car still is not starting.

Yup, I got an '03 GT Mustang and its in the trunk, left hand side... if it doesn't work, disconnect the cable to the switch try turing the car on the go back and plug in the cable then try the reset button. If you car is working properly and you want to turn the fuel pump off dissconect the cable, let the car run until it dies (won't hurt anything) and you're set. When you want to turn it on just plug it in and hit the button.
One of my friends use the reset button when he red lined his Mach. I mean he burried the needle in the red. Apparently the computer cuts fuel so that things inside the engine don't fly arpart from going to fast. I also, think that accident part is true. Anyway he didint know about the button in the back of the truck. Car wouldnt start so he had to have it towed back home. Hope this hasnt happend to any of you.
if you crash the fuel pump will shut off so if theres a fire it wont keep pumping gas so it shuts off and then you have to reset it with the switch so it will pump again
