Race tune by far is the best I have ever had...I tried going back to the performance tune on a long highway trip and when I got to my destination I switched back to the race tune. The throttle is sooooooo freakin amazing on the race tune....to me...the performance tune is damn near stock....not much of a difference. The race tune pulls so hard... I have an auto and this sucker chirps in every gear except fifth...but the shift to fifth will snap your head back...its nutz!!

I go back and forth among Brooksspeed tune, Bama (A:M) 91 performance and Bama 91 race. The Brooksspeed and 91 race give me about the same time at the track. I think the 91 performance, while okay to drive on the hwy, doesn't have the low end tq to launch like the 91 race or brooksspeed 91.

I think youre a little exaggerating man. First, there is no way a near stock V6 auto with just a tune will chrip every gear, or youre driving on a REALLY bad road lol. And when at full throttle does the V6 reaches the 5th gear which is an overdrive? I actually never noticed mine reaching 5th under full throttle.

sounded good, maybe my trans is wore out :gringreen race tune all the way for my dd. the performance is just so your car will function with your cai. it should just be called the " it will run without engine lights" tune. the race gets up and goes and gets better mileage than the perf. tune too.( for me anyway) :)

Yup. The 91 Bamachips race tune will chirp the tires at wot on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. The 2-3 shift is at around 55-60mph. I reduced my shift pressure across the board by 15% so mine doesn't do that anymore. I get a quick but smooth shift that's not hard on the transmission now. I recently had to have the tranny rebuilt because I burnt up the bands with the race tune. Those tire chirps on the road were also slipping the bands in the auto tranny and after 50,000 miles the bands were shot. If you're going to use this tune as a daily driver I'd suggest doing the same. You'll keep all the power of the race tune but you'll be adding to the longevity of you're tranny by taking the wham on your transmission out of every shift.
