I have a 96 Mustang GT, I am putting some new brakes on it very soon, however I reached a dilema. I dont know what to get. I saw the Bear 13" Brake Kit for the 96 GT and the Calipers look smaller then stock. Does anybody have the 13" Cobra brakes? Do the Calipers look nice and big?

People tell me about some upgraded brakes and how they work for you.

Thanks

That has not a thing to do with the performance of a brake caliper. Baer makes a flawless product! :smoke:

I have the Cobra 2 piston caliper with 13" cross drilled rotors on the front and the baer 13" rear rotor upgrade on the rear. They made a huge difference. My car really stops now. I am very happy with them and they look huge behind my wheels.

Brothers has the BREMBO Cobra R 4 piston front 13" kit for $1195. I would have gone for those but the shipping cost to Oz was just too much.

PS : Don't forget to make sure you have enough clearance for the larger calipers and rotors !

yeh i have the room. I have some 18" Cobra R Motorsport rims, the ones with all those little "notches" around the edge. Except they discontinued the rims so I cant fix my front two bent rims :( So I just bought 18" chrome Saleen wheels.

I also bought the Cobra 2 Piston brakes.

And hey, was it hard to get the 13" Baer conversion on the back? I want a huge braking kit, front and back eventually, just got promoted, so in a few months, think Im gonna go with some Stoptechs(Brembo company) or Wilwoods ... both are rated great.

If driven hard, stay away from cross-drilled (mostly show)
Should be able to find decent deals on the Cobra brakes.
Attached pics are Baer front/rear Eradispeed +1.

It does OK. :naughty

I don't bet as a matter of principle. No lottery tickets either. I'm a working stiff and earn every cent I ever had or will have so, it will never be wasted on a bet. :smoke:

Besides, if I meet you at the track, you'll just get beat one way or the other. I LOVE bracket racing! :eyepoppin
