Which GT500 Spoiler to buy for S197?

**sorry for making a new thread but i figured it'd be the only logical explanation since the previous thread bugged for sum reason, causing the first post, which would usually explain the topic to be deleted. not sure why tho. anyways, that sucks cuz i wrote a whole lot lol. gotta sum it up now.**

i've finally decided to now start on the appearance mods of my Torch Red S197 6. to start off, i decided to replace my factory 07+ V6 spoiler with a GT500 spoiler.

my problem is that there are so many out there.

i'm looking for a good quality, prepainted GT500 spoiler. ideally i want to spend around $150. i've heard a lot about thespoilerstore GT500 spoiler as a lot of ppl seem to go with it. i forget my main question about it so i'll skip that.

anyways i was looking to pick one up from them, but met a guy from cardomain.com who happens to also have a GT500 spoiler. after looking at his i noticed that it seems to be different from the one off ebay. it seems to be LARGER in size. like it looks to stand taller and extend further out from the body of the car. not sure if this is just my imagination or wat. i've talked with the guy and he says that its the "TRUE" GT500 spoiler. it's available prepainted for $150 w/free ship from spoilersource.com

idk if its true but compared to sum of the other pix i've seen of the one from ebay, his just seems like a more distinctive version. any thoughts on this?

his name is psipike and this is his page:

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2453076

another thing, when looking at pix of the GT500 spoiler from ebay, i've noticed that sum seem to have a very apparent larger gap between the spoiler edges and the body lines. anyone know why or if the 2 $95 painted GT500 spoilers from thespoilerstore are indeed 2 different variations of the spoiler? i noticed in the description one says GT500 Style spoiler while the other says GT500 **FACTORY** Style spoiler. could that mean there's a difference?

i've just noticed that sum ppl seem to have a more flush, natural looking GT500 spoiler than others while both claim it is the same thing from the same guy off ebay. a good example is in the following thread. one of the members, javdog, post pix of their black S197 with thespoilerstore GT500 spoiler and if u look, there's a very noticeable gap between the rear quarter panel and the bottom edges of the spoiler. its the 5th post in the thread below:

Installing GT500 Spoiler from The Spoiler Store - MustangForums.com

its best compared to when u look at the person who posted before him named nm3, who has pix of their S197 in their album, showing apparently the exact same spoiler however, with little to no gap between the body and the spoiler edges as seen here:

any ideas or info on any of this? and is it just an illusion or is the spoiler from spoilersource.com that is on psipike's blue S197 actually larger in size and extend further out from the body?

***btw, sorry for reposting a new thread. again thought this would be the only way to prevent confusion. thanks***

That looks the same as mine and I have the one from thespoilerstore on ebay.As far as the gaps go it might just be the angle the pic was taken. All will have a gap over the quarters otherwise you would be hitting them when you shut your trunk.I love the GT500 spoiler, good luck
I got my GT500 spoiler from Pacific Motorsports on ebay.
The spoiler on spoilersource.com isn't a true GT500 spoiler either. Their' spoiler is also a GT500 "style" spoiler, not an OEM part. Looks to be the same ABS plastic piece that everyone else is selling.
i guess my point is, if u look at the one on psipike's Stang, it looks like its a bigger spoiler. like extends further. is this really the case? look at the stang in the cardomain link.

then there's the 2 spoilers from thespoilerstore on the mustang forum.

the white and black mustangs apparently have the same spoiler but the one on the white one looks like a better one. the edges look closer to the body lines, therefore minimizing the gap between the body and the spoiler edges. am i the only person that is noticing that?

why is it like that?

look at these pix for reference of the 2 "same" spoilers from ebay

the white one with less of a gap. looks like not even an inch. looks like it LITERALLY touches the body of the car.

now look at the gap on the black one. BIG difference. looks like 1 to 2 inches clearance

also theres a pic of the blue stang. doesnt that spoiler look longer than the other 2??? i must be just imagining it or something. i swear it looks like a bigger/taller spoiler tho. is anyone else seeing wat im seeing?

true but why is the gap on the black Stang more visible then the white Stang. such a huge gap would bother me. i like the look of the one on the white Stang better.

no one has any info or ideas on why this is? the views are sumwat similar.
I think your seeing things, they all look like the same gap to me. Especially from the side angle. If your budget is $150 then you have a very limited choice, just get the one from the spoiler store and be done with it.:bigthumbsup
