Which heads?

I just got a price at a machine shop of 560 bucks to port my stock heads and get a three angle valve job. The guy says ill be in the high 12's with it. Is it worth doing or just getting GT40P heads? Im in college so the aluminum heads are way out of the question...very TIGHT budget

If you are mechanicaly inclined, you can buy a port and polish kit from Summit for about $25. It took me about six hours on each head, but I'm a little more peticular than most. I was verry happy with the outcome. On a stock 88 gt with the only mods being a new timing chain, timing set at 14, underdrive pullys, long tube headers, and the ported factory heads. The car ran 13.71 @ 101.4mph. That was with the factory 2.73 gears and 225/60/R15 tires.
