First I would like to say that I searched for the answer without any luck before posting this. I would like to seafoam my '02 Mustang GT but don't know which vacuum line to use :headscratch:. Could someone either reply with a very detailed description or put up a picture showing which one it is? Thank you.

when i did my 03 i used the vacum line that comes off of the passenger side valve cover i think it the egr but i am not sure if that is the correct name its the line that runs from the valve cover to the intake
That's the PCV line, and its fine to use that, you can also use the line that goes to the brake booster.
G
my 03 doesn't have a brake booster, so pcv intake is the way to go. here is a video.

YouTube - Seafoam in the Mustang
I use the line off the back of the throttlebody lower close to intake:gringreen
I'm not sold on this stuff!!

Me either. I run 9# of boost to prevent carbon buildup. LOL I have 114,000 miles and the valve covers look brand new inside. The trick is to use good quality oil or synthetic oil and change it regularly before it breaks down.

That is my opinion, but I have had several engines with well over 100,000 miles that ran like new and didn't need stuff poured into the inlet.

I'm pretty sure that is the one I tried the first time and the car quit as soon as I pulled the line off to put the seafoam in. Do I need a second person to do it? I can do it myself on my Trans Am and F150.

I'll take a look at 94baby's video when I get home from work (can't view vid's at work) to see if I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks for all the replies and for the record I only use it once a year and plan on swapping all the fluids to Royal Purple next week when it's due for an oil change :bigthumbsup so I agree 100% on the good quality oil/synthetic theory.
Nice carbon foot print. Video sucks, and the guy doesn't know what he's doing.

Also not sold on Seafoam.
yeah i'm all set too. i go by the wise quote:
"if it aint broke, don't fix it."
This reminds me of a guy I knew who ran engine oil flush in his BMW to clean out sludge and deposits. He ran it for a few minutes and reved it up and then spun a bearing and ruined the engine.

There is no substitute for good maintenance.
YUP putting it in the crankcase, fuel system, and air charge all at once sounds hairbrained, and that's correct use quality lubrication, run breathers, and spray the throttle body and upper plenum with TB cleaner every 5K miles and you'll be fine!
If it aint broke don't fix it in an extreme way like this..
There was one YouTube vid with a guy that did it too an older Volvo sedan and the thing covered the whole neighborhood in 20 feet hi white cloudy smoke and it poured out for literally 10 minutes not just a couple..
That's some whacked out SHIAT!!
ok ok say what you want about it i take very good care of my car change the oil every 3000 miles use rp fluids all that jazz that being said i did not buy my mustang new and have no idea how well the previous owner did maintenence so decided after 60000 miles to run some seafoam through it and it does work well my car runs smoother and gets better gas milage so i think its worth it just my 2 cents and if your worried about carbon foot print go by a prius for god sake
I don't see MMR, Livernois,Modular Performance, Nazman,Al Papito, etc.. recommending this stuff?? If it was SO Great I would think the best Mod Motor builders would endorse it!!

A prius just gets better gas milage. If you have stock cats your car isn't emitting anything bad into the atmosphere.

No one referenced you to the D-bag in the video. Don't get your panties in a wad.
I always just split a can between the crankcase and the gas tank about every 10K miles or so. Make sure you don't drive more than about 20 miles with it in the crankcase though and change the oil the same day if there's ANY way possible. I would just about eat soup off the inside of my valve covers after 90K miles in the Explorer.
just use the seafoam like the can says, poor it all in the tank. and there is nothing wrong with doing everything you can to keep your car running right. just dont do anything stupid, like pooring a fuel system cleaner into your crank case.
