Whipple Superchargers is teasing a massive new blower for the modern 5.0L Mustang and Shelby GT500. How big is it? Well, it's big enough that when we first saw the social media post we thought that someone was releasing a new high-performance version of the Essex V6.

That's because this 3.8L blower is absolutely honking in size. For comparison, the Dodge Demon's blower displaces just 2.7L, and the Shelby GT500's just 2.65L. This Whipple blower, which it calls Gen 5 has 50 percent more displacement, meaning it can generate a whole load more boost, and make more boost at lower RPM.

Whipple says it has a new rotor profile with changes to the diameter and length for improved efficiency. There are high flow fittings with dual in and out for the intercooler connections, and a tilted throttle opening that allows more airflow.

How much power will it make? We're not sure, but if the GT500 already makes 760, this one could push it well past that. Maybe even into the four-figures. If you're not driving a Ford these days, Whipple says the new blower will arrive on the Hellcat V8 as well, but if you're shopping for that one you're on the wrong site.

We're wondering what it'll do for all of the 5.0L Mustang GTs out there, and if it'll trickle down to the F-150 pickup as well. No word yet on pricing or availability, but we'll keep you updated.
