That's just a couple hours away from me - I might could talk my girl into heading up there. What all is going on?
Nmra

The final race on this side of the Mississippi in the NMRA.
The last race I believe is in Hueston.

Car Show and Midway with vendors UPR, Brenspeed, SCT,Vortec and many others.

The track will see all motor to twin turbo, and supercharged cars and trucks. I will say this when you see a Lightning take off and it is running in the 10's it is neat. Maybe do to it's size and the numbers it puts down.

I'll check into it. She has a '11V6, might could talk her into heading up there.
Good

It really is a good time and the track speeds are usually a little better than average do to the track temps this time of the year.

Low humidity and cool air = good HP and track slips.:bigthumbsup

Do you know if they will have open track times or is it just the sanctioned races? I checked their website out last night but couldn't really tell.

T. Wayne is right on. Bowling Green, KY is my favorite race of the year. It is the one race above all others on the tour that I wish I could make. Our baby is due on Oct 29 so this year is just not an option. Next year though, the baby will be a year old....:winks

The track times are usually strong. The car show, midway and spectator crowds are big and the atmosphere is infectious.

If you're taking your girls '11 V6, I would sign up the True Street event. You'll have to check the registration fee. I've forgotten what it is, but you'll take the car on a 30 mile Mustang parade then when you get back to the track you'll make three passes back to back to back. The average of your three times is then how you are ranked.

True Street is how I got into running with the NMRA and it is an absolute blast.

Got some nice parts last year at the Mid Way. UPR was the top sponsor last year and the parts I picked up nice discount from UPR. I will say this if your looking for something hold your dollars because the prices at the meet and the folks who own and work for these great companies are on site. The plus is you will see the products in action and be able to view the cars and trucks that just made passes. I know we read the item discription when shopping but when you see the product or the work of your shop who developes these Tunes. Well the facts and results speak for themselves.

Good Point T.

I take for granted sometimes that everybody has seen and played with these parts. There is a great satisfaction in watching a car using the part you want and then deciding if that's the direction you really want to go.

When you get to put your hands on a Paxton or Roush supercharger, or hold a set of long tubes and inspect the welds, or watch somebody install a new tune and see how user friendly it really is it takes some of the trepidation out of the process and replaces it with a real excitement.

I don't make it a secret that I pit with the Brenspeed group when I'm at an NMRA event so I know and genuinely like all of those guys really well, but I haven't met or talked with anyone of the manufacturers, shop groups or racers that aren't really nice folks. Obviously they're there to build business, but it is a business that they all sincerely love.

Brenspeed

Yes the folks at Brenspeed are down to earth. I met Sharad's boss last year super nice folks at UPR. The point you made is valid that we are dealing with folks that love what they do. When I started out with this car I had no understanding or real faith that this computer controlled cars could deliver. Well never to old to learn and believe me Brenspeeds first question was what do you want out of your car.
I quickly realized I was talking to enthusiast not just a wall of sales reps. pushing a product.

I'm still amazed at the consistent performance of these cars. The drivers who compete make it look easy. But we know it starts with good products and people who are good at what they do.
