I see alot of stangs with big wheels 18s 19s and even 20s. Curious to know if anyone has put a 285 0r 295/35/18 tire on the rear whithout going to a 19 or 20 in rim? I like the big fat tire look with out the giant rim, Im old school I guess :smoke:
Thanx, FoMoCo

I'm running BFG KDW's 255/45/18 front and 285/40/18 out back on Budnik fat lip "Groove" wheels 18 x 9" front and 18 x 10" rear. The tires do not rub on anything even after installing Steeda springs to lower the car about an inch. the 18's keep a good amount of sidewall so the ride is quite good. With a 19 or 20 you wind up with rubber bands for tires.

275/50 x 17 Nitto NT-450's all around. 10.83" wide tires with a 5.42" sidewall.

Very snug up front but no rubs. I do not like the "rubber band" look, and I would have preferred RWL tires. Some do not like the look, but I have gotten many more positive than negative comments. I did recently change from silver bullitts to chrome. Huge improvement.

I'd love to have some more rubber on the rear wheels, but am reluctant to ditch the stock rims. How wide a tire will the GT machined aluminum 17's handle?

Also, can offsets be used on them to fill out the wheel well?

*I don't know jack about swappin' tires!

There is some1 on cardomain with 22's on his GT. Looks slick as hell. Bullit style, but MUCH larger.

When I actually stop becoming poor, I'm puttin a set of 20x10 on the rear and 20x9.5 on the front.

the biggest I've seen that will fit is 275/50/17. the only tire I've seen in that size is Nitto 450... unless you want to go to a truck/suv tire.
