I was wondering who has installed a mach 1 grill delete on their non- mach 1 car. I bought one last summer and havent put it on yet, but after buying it, I've seen other kits with more pieces than mine for more money of course. Mine only has the bottom filler panel and mount for the pony. But I've seen some kits that come with like an upper panel that goes above the pony but am not really sure. I would like people to show me pictures of your grill delete kits installed, preferably with the hood open and looking down on the grill so I can see how everything looks. Also how many pieces your kit had in it. I saw a kit on e-bay last night a guy puts together with all factory ford pieces (8 pieces) I think, for like 80 bucks. I just want to know if I should buy the rest of the pieces or don't really need them. Sorry for not really knowing what I'm talking about but since I don't have all the pieces that other kits have I don't really know. Thanks in advance.:worship

Grille delete

happy w/mine from Performance Parts Inc. - 3-piece
http://www.performancepartsinc.com/int_ext.htm - way down on page; has both 2pc/3pc (search for delete?)
good service & shipping speed.

Note how end tabs on lower piece angle down to fit at left/right upper corners - don't know if that's result of my front apron being slightly high for some reason. Can't see it w/hood closed.

Sorry, forgot: the bottom piece has 4? plastic pins that go down into the apron; in theory you'd put these metal clips over the pins to hold the bottom trim piece in place. However getting to them & getting them on is virtually impossible w/almost certain probability of breaking the pins. I wrote PerfPartsInc about not having the 'clips' in my kit and he noted the above issue and said folks use some double stick tape on the bottom of the bottom piece to hold more securely to the top of the apron. I did not - it's not going anywhere.

Thanks guys a bunch!! Meatball, my kit didn't even come with the top piece, just the bottom and the little bracket for the pony, I knew I was missing a vital piece. My rad cover won't have anything to mount to on the front. I'm going to have to go through my paper work and find out where I got mine and see if it ust got left out or it doesn't come with it. I knew that it was too good to be true, I think I only paid 35 bucks for it. Oh well, live and learn, I know I can get just that piece from ford if I have to. Thanks again and pictures and experiences are still welcome.

Well, since they sell as both 2-pc/3-pc, must work either way.
idea: email the folks at performancepartsinc about the 2-pc install.
