Hey guys I have a 2003 mustang automatic v6 with 122k miles and have some questions. So I was driving on a snowy road, and I went to turn around on some ice and this happened. When I applied the brake the ABS kicked in and wouldn't stop until I got to dry pavement. When I was in the snow the car wouldn't go forward or back. The only tire that would spin would be the back right one. The back left was seized up. After my friend pushed me out the car was fine until I stopped on the road where there was ice but it wasn't so slippery to get stuck. I put it in park( ABS light on dash still on) then back to drive and the back left tire still wouldn't spin. Then I put it in reserve and it spun fine then to drive and it was fine. When I got to pavement the ABS turned off and it goes from park to drive fine and rolls. Does anyone know why this is happening and if anything is broken or malfunctioning. If it helps the brake pad wasn't hot when it wasn't spinning, and traction control was off the entire time. Any input would be helpful. Cheers

Sounds to me like an ABS/Traction sensor control fault on the rear left wheel. Best of luck.

So your description kind of confuses me a bit. If you're stuck in snow and spinning your tires, it is normal for the right rear tire to spin like crazy while the left one just sits there on the snow. It wouldn't be 'seized' but I guess you could mistake it for that. This is because the car comes with an open differential, look it up if you're not familiar. So what is up with the ABS? Describe exactly how it's behaving in those situations.

I think Markstang690 is right. I think you were just spinning one wheel because the car has a standard differential and not a limited slip differential. I don't think it was the ABS causing it.
