Years ago those door ding guards were held on with pop rivets. Now they are probably on with tape.

If you park in a parking lot with lots of traffic, they could save you some headache.

When we ordered my wife's '98 Mustang GT those door guard strips were an option for fleet cars only (rental cars and group purchases by companies, etcetera). They were not available for me to order on my '08 GT500 (I would NOT have ordered them if they were), so I suspect that they are still for fleet cars only.

YES

99% of rental Mustangs were V6's and had that door moulding in Hawaii. You'd literally see at least 15 different rental convertible V6ers in one day there... HAHA! :laugh: All of them would have it.

I'm personally not the biggest fan of it.

While functional, most people do not find it to be attractive.
I suppose that a person who appreciated the practicality of those guards could order them through the parts department and have their Ford dealer install them.
