This would be a fender, front end bumper and cap. Lots of junkyards do not have anything for this car. When they say there are lots of parts for these cars do they mean AFTERMARKET only?:headscratch:

I know the feeling. My car is hard to find parts for too. The '85 GT 5-speeds had alot of firsts, lasts, and only's.
I wouldn't think salvage body panels for your '88 would be that hard to find, maybe just the area you're in. The parts don't necessarily have to be from an '88 either. I think the '79-90 fenders are the same and the '87-93 bumper covers are the same as well. Worst case, reproduction body panels are available.

Insurance company refuses to use any kind of aftermarket or reproduction part. It has to be OEM. Body shop says aftermarket parts don't fit right and they have lots of problems with aftermarket parts.:headscratch:

I've had good luck with Fox Resto:

Well, it IS a 20 yr. old car!
That being said, OEM parts are still available if you or your local dealership look hard enough, but they are going to COST.
As far as wreckers go, finding clean sheet metal is not always easy, it is a junk yard after all!
For aftermarket parts, as long as you buy from reputable places such as Year One, and those listed above, the parts will fit fine. It's the parts-store ordered and $50 e-bay stuff that get's you into trouble.

OEM parts are going to cost quite a bit. But you should still be able to find them, just look longer and some will turn up.

This is a good source but the insurance company will not use their parts as they are reproduction/aftermarket parts. Only OEM.
I have purchased (Not factory)a few door attenuators from them. Maybe I should next time get the FORD door attenuator part and it will last longer like the original did over 150,000 miles.

FoxResto parts on my Mustang include the metal console trim piece (plastic latch was broken) and the windshield trim piece (rubber surround). I'm considering getting the "fix" for the ashtray door. The door works but is delicate.
