Hello all,
I recently changed my wheels and tires on my 90 lx 5.0 conv...I went from these awful 15" ten holes, with 205 tires to 16" ponys and 235/50/16's...Now I really can't remember how harsh the ride was with the old wheels and tires so I feel that must mean it wasn't that bad...But I do remember how crappy it handled with the old stuff...When I got the new stuff the cornering was like night and day, I really couldn't believe how much it improved!...I was only going for the look factor and this cornering ability seemed like an excellent bonus...But now I REALY notice every little crack in the road...Bumps that my wifes Honda goes over like they're not there will jar my teeth out in this mustang...Question is...What can I do to soften this up without giving up my handling???...Is there anything???...I know that I could try different tires/shocks/springs...But I don't want to flip over in a turn either
...The reason I ask this is b/c when I rented a new 05 mustang a few weeks ago...I was impressed with how it handled as well as how smooth and un-jarring taking potholes were...Is this rough ride on the older fox bodies a curse or can it be remedied?...I have test driven several 94-98 stangs as well as I wanted one of these body styles a while back...And I don't remember them being harsh at all over rough roads and they still handled very well...So why is my fox body so damn bad?
Thanks,
JSK
