I installed a new harmonic balancer and the water pump about a year ago and they seem to be working properly. However, it rained about two or three days ago and since then the harmonic pulley began to squeal. I sprayed some lubricant and it helped, but, if I let the car sit for a while and started it up again it begins to squeal, why? After two or three days with the squealing I began to hear a small grinding noise coming from the front of the engine. It sounds like it's almost coming out of the water pump but if I accelerate it doesn't speed up it remains a constent noise. What could it be?
