Will 1964 1/2 Mustang brake pressure switch fit into a newer Master Cylinder

The previous owner of my car did a disc brake conversion that also involved changing the Master Cylinder. The wires are there for the brake lights but there's no switch in the cylinder. I ordered a 64 1/2 brake switch but not sure if it's going to thread into the new Master Cylinder or not. I would assume if it fit the previous owner would have used the switch off the old Master Cylinder and hooked up the brake lights. I also saw that CJ Pony Parts sells an adapter but it looks like that's for if you want to go from an electric switch to a hydro one. I'm not 100% what Master Cylinder is in the car. I could not find any numbers on it.

The 64 1/2 uses a hydraulic switch and the 65+ uses a mechanical switch on the brake pedal. When I first installed my front disk brake kit, I had a "T" fitting that I used to get the brake light switch into the line.

I had an annoying problem that the added pressure of the disk brake system would ruin my brake light switch every month or three...

I finally converted mine to the 65/66 setup. The "post" on the brake pedal was not long enough to accept the mechanical switch and the retainer pin, so I changed the pedal out for a 65 type. You will also need the 65 type actuator rod, but you may already have it with your kit. The 64 actuator doesn't have the two "ears" on it that actuate the mechanical brake light switch. You will need to also extend the two witrs to the switch through the firewall to the new switch.

I'm so glad I converted mine. It has worked great ever since!

Thanks! I ordered the $27 adapter from CJ pony parts. Looks like I better start sourcing parts for the swap if it's gonna keep killing the switch.
