I was just wondering if any of you guys used a cam with this much lift on stock heads. I installed heavier springs but will the lift height bind my srings. I am going to purchase one of these cams and I dont want to go thru the hassle of trying to return them if they are to big. Thanks in advance and I hope everyone had a good holiday. Jim

BTW its a low 70's 390 that I am putting in a 94 stang

Also one more question, where can i get a rear sump oil pan, and a oil pump pick up relocator

All of those are WAY too much for your combo. Your stock heads are too restrictive to get any use out of those cams.

Thanks for your input Monkey Boy, but my questions was, will the springs bind at that lift. I am building a weekend poser car for my son to drive on occasion. I have edelbrock heads that I will be installing along with gears and a TCI transmission with stall at a later date. As of now, I don't want my 18 year old boy to have all that power, so yes I am trying to restrict the motor. A turbo may also be in this cars future.

Here's where you can get a right answer...

Hey, dude! I happen to be an Engine Parts Delivery Driver, and one of the accounts I go to every day for pickups and deliveries is a place called Delta Camshaft. I've been going in this place for over 20 years as a customer. They do great work, and they know cams! Besides regrinds, they also sell Comp Cams and some Crane.

I assure you, these guys would be able to answer your question without a moment of hesitation. If you have a phone and can call them between 8 am and 5 pm West Coast time, they'd be more than happy to help answer your cam question. On a positive note, one guy there who is part owner, races Mustangs!

Their toll-free number is: 1-800-562-5500. Their website is deltacam.com but it's not real informative. Just tell them Shawn told you to call.

I hope this helps! I sure wouldn't be able to anwer your question myself.
