Dude, I had a similar problem with the back rear window and fixed it today with my brother's help. I took the back panel off and found one of the plastic pieces missing. Luckily I found the original part, greased up the side and put the piece back on and it worked like a charm. If you don't find the original parts, just google it. Hello.You'll need to pull the door panel off to have a look,but it sounds as if your window regulator is busted,in which case the fix is to replace the window regulator.Hope that helps.

Yeah, take the panel off. Check out the situation. I had to replace my driver's side regulator on my 68' Coupe. It was totally wasted. But now it works great. Be careful when you remove the current regulator. It's on a track. You need to unbolt it first and then slide it off the track by hand. I didn't do this the first time and ended up breaking stuff.
