What are some do's and don't's of storing your mustang for the winter?

Does it matter if the storage facility is heated or not? Is it better to be on stone or concrete?

What is a good cover to get?

a heated place is always better, and i don't recommend a cover. Unless the car is perfectly clean, and not even a spec of dust is on it, the cover will scratch the paint. You can dust it off in the spring, thats the only dirt that should get on it in a storage building.

i cant speak much for long term winter storage but the way i go about storing my saleen is: full tank of gas, park on carpet, towels to cover the car and then i add a car cover. towel again and car cover again lol i have an extra car cover laying around so i figured i'd double cover it and reduce the chance someone walking by and accidently scratching it with their belts or whatever.

Thats ridiculous overkill.

Top off your fluids and take out your battery. Start it occasionally, let it warm up, and back in and out as much as you can, just rotate and re-flex the tires and drivetrain. Take out anything that could hold moisture. If it's not outside you could even crack your window a bit, but that's not even necessary.

Just make sure to start it once every week or two. Keep the moving parts moving. That's the key.

Yes its overkill but i rather take the extra few minutes to cover it than have someone accidentally walking to close and scratching the car.
