The Explorer harness is setup for EDIS.Wont work unless you use the Explorer ECM and DIS system. My advice to you is use your factory Harness and convert to MAF.

i am putting a 97 explorer engine in my 87 gt, and i am also converting to MAF and i was wondering if the harness from the explorer will work with the MAF sensor

The Explorer harness and computer need to be ditched, and you need a Mustang mass air conversion kit.
Explorer firing order is the same as the 351w/302HOIs firing order going to be an issue?
