Oh Lord, I love my Mustang GT, but I gotta confess my sin: I love old Mopars (especially B-bodies but E-bodies too). Therefore, any car with a retro look (like they managed to do with the Stang), hits my soft spot...and if it's an old Mopar being recreated, even more so...

And now seeing the pics on this link, it's making me want to ... "cheat" on my beloved GT.
Man, does she look gorgeous or what ?

If Dodge makes this car, I feel it will be a success (especially if they put the 6.1 liter V8 of the SRT's in it, but even with the 5.7 / 340 hp it wouldn't be bad).

Man, thanks for the link !
(yes, I confirm it...this car gave me an ... "automotive-inspired" boner :D)

What he said... If I didn't know any better, I'd swear that was the original with some Foose styling. Maybe I can trade in my wife's 67 RS SS Camaro.:sterb:

Yup, me too. Mopars have been my passion since my first car. When I bought the Stang it was because of the cool styling and the fact that the Charger was ugly as sin but that Challenger looks pretty cool. It even mentions a pistol grip shifter.

The possible release dates I've seen on it have all been 2010.
I saw some 2008 release dates as well though.
Well, I can wait till 2010...even 2110, if someone can find a way to perfect cryogenic technology... :D :D :D

Wonder how much it'll weigh?

THe Mustang's already too heavy, and that's based on the same platform as the 300/magnum/charger.

Hopefully, they don't find a way to lighten it too much!!!

Otherwise, the the Shelby will be in trouble when the SRT comes out!

I'm just glad they didn't do the Cuda! 'Cause, I'd have to get me one of those!

Challenger?

I bet it will. New Dodge Challenger was spotted according to this article..

Looks like it does follow the lines and style of the old 1970 Challengers. The color they painted it is crap though. Needs all the graphics they use to have.
Getting back to the original question . . .

That looks like it's a driver. It's not on a trailer, and is definitely moving under it's own power.

I'd say, it's already a go!

I'd rather see a Cuda too, and not that it could never happen but technically Cuda was a Plymouth and Plymouth went bye bye.

To be honest I'd rather not think about which to choose, my Mustang or new Challenger. I'd rather figure out how they would both look in my garage. :winks

oooohh!

Chrysler is always mixin and matchin.

the Concorde was an AMC, so was the Eagle!

the Neon was a plymouth, so was the Cruiser.

Chrysler doesn't care. . . . Heck, they may bring back the AMX!!

That is sweet! Looks like they might actually do something right. The Magnums fell flat on their face, the Charger R/Ts are pigs ( have beat two of them so far ), hopefully this will come to term.

Love them old Mopars!

You're right,

That's exactly what I said when I saw the pics. It looks FOOSEified.

The only thing I think it needs is a little more front overhang to make it look right,

my favorite cars were always 69 mustangs, 69 chargers and 70-ish challengers...love that wraparound bumper look and deep recessed grille- the new one looks a bit weak in that regard, but still, if it looks like those pics and they sell it in the 25 range, it will be a winner. They really shoulda stuck with the R/T concept from a few years ago instead of what they ended up with- only saw one so far and no thanks...

The recessed grille is gone forever.

Aerodynamically, the 05 Mustang has problems, with that deep of a grille, mpg over 60 would be horrible, even with the 3.5L six.

kscoyote, tell your "aerodynamic problem" to ford racing, i dont think they feel its a problem . all they do is win! now if your going 150 + maybe youd hav a point .aerodynamics at 60 dont mean squat. plus it can be a positve as far as engine cooling and greater airflow. look at the cars that are on the road with supposedly better aerodynamics and there mpg isnt much better. aerodynamics isnt just about the grill area its also about flow over and arround the car . the nose is just one aspect of aerodynamics . from 0 - 150 this is a great car !!! i dont think many of us are going to go much faster than that. if your worried about gas milage go trade in your mustang and get a hybrid. my 2 cents. vynle.
