Worth the money?

Hey Guys, it's been a while since i've been here. Recently I've gotten a check from the insurance company from the wreck i had back in Dec. '08 and i've looked around for a couple of weeks for another mustang. Well i finally came across an old man who has a 1994 SVT Cobra in Rio Red & Black leather interior with only 82,000 miles on it and he's asking $4700 for it.

The Good: It's a genuine cobra, clear title, 3.73's, Double cobra R hood, pro 5.0 shifter, edlebrock upper & lower intake, 70mm throttle body & MAF, K&N filter, 4 new tires on '95 style chrome cobra R's, BBK headers with catless H-pipe and flowmasters, and a gear drive timing set.

The Bad: The hood, front bumper cover, and both front fenders need a new coat of clearcoat. Someone painted the interior trim in a metal flake paint (looks stupid), the transmission makes a grinding noise when you release the clutch (could be a throwout bearing), and it's been wrecked in the front and rear but repaired 7 years ago.

I was just hoping to get someone's opinion before i bought it as to whether that price was right or do i need to try and get them to lower it.

doesn't the mustang have a knock sensor? the gear drive will make the computer retard the timing..

but if the money is right... it is a cobra after all...
well the 94 cobra with 82k miles around my part of town are rare

and it always takes money to make a car right after 16 years of abuse and kbb says this
1994 Ford Mustang - Private Party Pricing Report - Kelley Blue Book

for a 87k miliage car but i believe it is always worth talking someone down on price i bought my 91 for $400 when he was asking 5 but then agian i did have to rebuild almost everything

always try to get it cheaper and good find on a 94 cobra:bigthumbsup

Doesnt sound like a bad deal to me. I mean things are going to break on a car no matter how well you take care of it. Certain peices of material can only take so much. I just bought a 98 cobra with 71k miles on it for 6 grand. I would say go for it but always try to talk someone down. sounds like a good deal to me.

well see he's already come down from $5,500 so far... and book value is $5,400
DUUUUUDE buy it.. i bought mine for 7 K with 94 thousand on it..and it was all stock
ok, i'm gonna go ahead and get it. I cant let a genuine 5.0 Cobra go for that price.

here's some pics:

Yep...In the family of mustangs, the cobra will always be loved.
yeah, a quick repaint will have it looking nice..that car has also been lowered, so someone spent some loot on the basics that cost alot to do on your own...stroke that motor and you'd have a killer car.
