I have an opportunity to buy some cams at a cut rate. A shop installed them to test. They pulled them out after a little less than 300 miles. Any concerns about doing this purchase? I don't plan to install till October. Any precautions I should do to preserve them till then?

There should be no concern. Just look for cracks/damage, excessive lobe wear, and see if you can get a cam card or the original box it came in, since there's no way to identify what cam it is without it. And a thin coating of grease or light oil is all you should need to preserve it. Alot of people have bought used cams and you hardly ever read of people having problems.

They are detroit Rockers. $500 plus shipping. Compared to $799 I would say it is pretty good. I got pics and they look in good shape.
