Wrecked my baby

Hey people, I was wondering if anyone would know how much a rear axle might cost to replace on 97 GT? I got in a wreck today with a curb, I lost control and slammed into it and it ripped off my left rear tire completely, rim and all, which got stuck under my car. When the tow truck came it was like something out of a horror movie, when they started pulling it forward the tire that was underneath started being wedged up holding the whole car up a foot off the ground on this one tire! My mom and I said Oh Sh*t and we both turned around so we couldnt see. I'm gonna have to replace the axle and i'm going to have to chunk my top of the line Yokohamas and my rims! There is no body damage what so ever... i'm not even sure if my mom will give it back to me even when it is fixed...

Does anyone have a rough idea about how much this might cost to get fixed?

I just wrecked my car but its worse than yours there is about 5000 worth of damage and i dont have insurance
geez that would suck. I'm thankfully getting mine back from the shop, finally, sometime this week, i think thats the best christmas present I could have got :) .
I totaled mine 'bout a month ago.... so yeah.... 10,000 dollars worth of damage. :sterb:
I fender-bendered mine Monday. A Recycling truck had a piece of wood come off the back and hit the front of my car. Need new hood, front bumper, gas tank bracket, & headlights. Pretty good for a few scratches. Quoted price to repair $2400. Thank God it wasn't my fault, but I hate the fact that my horse is injured and I have to drive it around like that until it gets fixed. It has dampened my Christmas. :weeps
fix

im sorry to hear about the car man, that happend to me also about 3 months ago, sucks dont it came around the corner to fast and with too little tires for my car and bam hit the cerb! my wheel was broken off from the axle with the axle mount still on i was just going to replace the axle and get some new rims but i droped the whole rear and put in a turbo coupe rear in it with 355 im glad i did cause i bent the rear i couldent tell till i droped it. it will be alot less if you do the work your self the most exspencive thing is going to be the rims if you get a use rear from some where isent to hard either good luck man

Not really. What about if yo went to a junk yard and got one. You may even get lucky and get the same gear ratio you have in the one you wrecked. No idea on price though. Sorry to hear about that.:happyhapp
About a year or so ago I had my whole rear end replaced with FRPP 3:73's and it cost me about $1800.00. This was on a 2000 GT.
