x pipe question

700 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Mister Ed
ok so I went to get my exhaust done this week and I told the gy I wanted him to mandrel bend a 2.5" x pipe to dual flowmasters. They do all the stuff there so it is no problem, but they guy told me he wouldn't do it. He said if he does it I would need someone to push me off the line because I would have no power. Now I know a lot of you guys have them so whats the deal? Do you guys notice a difference in power? Or should I just buy a pre made kit instead. The guy was just being a jerk and talking trash about fords. But I like the dual exhaust look, and I got this v6 to teach my wife to drive because it is going to be hers eventually. Any input would help. Thanks

i dont have an x pipe but every thing i have heard about them they deffanetly add power so i dont know what the guy was talking about.
I have a x pipe on my 93 and there is a big difference in power gains but im not running cats either
and your 93 is a v6 right? Did you have it done custom or did you order a kit pre-made?
I'd tell him....

I'd tell him to stick his head up his a**, he's full of crap, he's afraid of the competition, he's just pissed that his company just got bought out by the GOV. because no one wants to buy their cars and they had to file for Bankruptcy. but , anyway I have a Pypes X pipe ( 100.00) and is great, the sound got even better. I have a gt take-off exhaust with the Magna flow muffs. If I can figure a way to mount a camera under the back of my car, I need to do a sound clip, the ones everyone do where they just put the camera down and rev it in the driveway does no justice to the true sound.

ya I got Ford Racing Performance Dual Exhaust Kit on my mustang and I love it it came with an x pipe and the same muffs they used on the 2008 Bullitt Mustang and It def. added more power along with a much better sound. I say dont listen to him and go for it.:bigthumbsup
alright thanks. Anyone know if the pypes x pipe is a bolt on or a weld on? I have the one flow master that sounds awesome and two would be even better I imagine.
Im pretty sure the pypes is a bolt on... and duals dont really increase the volume, but they give the exhaust a more "refined" sound.
