and i just wanted to know what 373's would to to my gas mileage.
Here are some ideas as to what I would get if I was on a budget.

-Steeda Cold Air kit (269.95).
-Magnaflow (595.11) or Flowmaster (582.48) exhaust system.
-Hooker Lond Tube Headers (509.99).
-Hooker X-pipe (149.99).
-Steeda Tri-ax Shifter(199.99)
-3.73 gears
-Superchip(399.00)
-Wider Tires
-Steeda Sport Lowering springs (249.99)
-Nitrous

Those sound like quotes for an 05' Mustang. He is driving an 02.
I wouldn't get less than 3:90's. I have 3:73's on a 03 gt and I feel I still needs more gear. First feels good, but second definately feels sluggish. So if I had to do it over again I would go 3:90's. Freeway isn't to bad, you will pick up about 400 rpm. I figure about 7 mph when I went to 3:73's vs 3:27(stock) So look at your tach at 77 mph and that what it would run at 70 mph. If you get more gear, be sure to get a sticky tire to take advantage of the new found acceleration or you will just be lighting them up everytime you leave hard. My best two bolton's I would say is the gear and c&L intake. The intake was one mod if could definately tell the difference on and I had a ported stock one on there before the change. Best bang for the buck get a ZEX nitrous kit and set it to 100 hp on a stock tune, instant 12 second car

Make it go down....

There are arguements both ways. Some say you get into your powerband quicker so you dont use as much gas getting up to speed, others disagree. For the most part, a steeper gear will cause more relative RPMs thus lowering your mileage to some degree.

Later,
