Noticed the rear axle on my '08 V6 vert is pretty much totally covered with surface rust. Ford did a good job with the rest of the underside is pretty much painted or metal that is protected. My car just hit 1 year, 1800 miles and only driven in the rain once!

Should I just spray it with black Rustoleum or something not to worry about?

It's not a problem. Mine looks the same way. While it may not look pretty, it isnt going to do any harm. You can wire brush it and spray it with some rustoleum to make it look a bit nicer, if you want though...

Or you can have it powder coated!

Those things are rusty from the minute they leave the factory.

Well, it depends on the method of transportation, etc. I have seen some new ones without any rust, but yeah, that is the norm. If you happen to get one without rust then the countdown to get a clear-coating on it is on for sure.

I just wire brushed mine and sprayed it with Rustoleum.

Powdercoating is more permanent! LOL :D

I've got too many pretty suspension pieces up under there than to just go wild spraying Rustoleum :)
That's why I powdercoated mine BMR gray!

I know STL, I'll be quite I promise!!! LOL:D

It looks similar to rustoleums rust reformer. I used it a couple years back, turns rust black.
