All,

I decided to trade in my mustang for a family car, got a fully loaded new Honda Accord EX-L 3.5L V6 engine. This is a great community for Mustang Enthusiasts, maybe I'll get the 2015 mustang lol, but for now I needed I bit more room and comfort. Thank you all for your help and feedback in the past.

Don't let everyone beat you up over this! Every time I squeeze my youngest into a car seat in the rear of my stang I wish I had a 4 door. On the other hand, every time I drive alone I am so happy with the stang. Luckily, we have a Caddy SRX for the wife.

That's where a convertible comes in handy. More often than not, when it's time to squeeze my 2 year old into the back seat, I can just put the top down. lol

True that. With my vert, it's no problem dropping a kid and a car seat into the back seat.

This is why the wife and I have a 12' Odyssey AND a 5.0 :winks
If you have a family with kids and can't afford both of course the family car is priority...
If you don't have a family then this is FAIL:yelwacko:

I have to admit, that interior looks lights years better than the Mustangs.

Do you have eyes? That interior looks pretty dull and the pod of buttons, look much harder to operate while driving because the buttons aren't as large or as spread out as they are on the mustang. Neither car has done a particularly good job with minimizing the number of buttons. Both cars would look much cleaner with half the button number, IMO.

But having said that, the fake wood on the accord looks terrible and I think the retro design of the interior on the mustang is more pleasing to the eye. The accord, looks, like well, an asian sedan.

The accord isn't a terrible mess of a car, especially in V6 guise, but there are certainly other cars I would have chosen, personally, instead of the Accord. Cars like the Jetta GLI (the back seat on this is pretty darn large), a sonota/optima 2.0t, Chrysler 300S/charger RT, and several others. Personally though, there's a good chance I would have waited until the new Fusion comes out--that sedan looks fantastic. The styling on the upcoming Fusion definitely seems like it would be appropriate on a vehicle costing twice as much. In all honesty, I absolutely wouldn't have considered an Accord, Camry, or Altima as none are terribly interesting.

Oh no, the dreaded Honda induced coma...:shigrin I have to admit I test drove an Accord a couple of years ago, thank goodness it drove terrible and I didn't buy it (tires felt out of round or flat spotted)

Went from a SUV to the GT, figure the grandkid will be alright in the backseat.

Sometimes the fun has to end for awhile and responsibilities take priority. Nice ride, Hondas are a great choice, outstanding reliability and darn good resale value. Been there done that, and you know when the fun returns, it comes back in a big way!

Good luck with your Accord. In my opinion, Honda is not the car company it used to be. Their cars are bland, cheaply built, have fewer options, and are no longer the fun cars they used to be. Believe me, it pains me to say that. I am a long time Honda owner, trading in an Acura RSX-s for the Mustang (and owned 2 other civics), but Honda has lost their way. It has all become about fuel mileage. Their cars used to be lightweight, high revving, good handling cars. Now they are fat underpowered pigs. As far as fuel mileage goes, I will take a V6 Mustang over anything in Honda's line up today. Good mileage and a grin on my face upon arrival! I believe Honda has lost their fun factor.

Sorry about the rant, but that is my opinion of Honda these days. If I was in the need of a family car I would have chosen something else for sure. Maxima? But that is just my $.02.

..........:wavey:cheers

You know....if you wanted 4 doors but sporty, there were better options.

1) Charger SRT
2) Taurus SHO
3) Maxima
4) A used G8
5) Subura WRX
6) Mazda 3 Mazdaspeed
7)Subura Legacy 2.5GT

Heck even a lightly used CTS or Standard Taurus probably would have yielded a few more smiles then an Accord.

Those are just off the top of my head, of course there are many others (and many that are very expensive as well).

I guess this guy didn't know that American automakers make sedans and family vehicles too... But whatever, there is nothing special about that interior. Everything is still, yea, PLASTIC! Don't let the fake wood fool you either. Good luck on the recalls bud!
