hi everyone!
i have a nearly stock 90 mustang GT. it has 170,000 miles on all original drivetrain and runs perfectly. has a really clean gray interior. its a 5 speed. it was repainted the original color about a year ago. has a few bolt ons. cat back exhaust, short shifter,a k&n filter, and 3.55 gears. it needs nothing and is verry reliable. i may be thinking of selling in the summer time and just looking to see what you guys thing it is worth in its current state. thx in advance for any help

Well, if it looks that good all the way around you could probably get around $4200.

well, i had a guide for the fox mustangs, but the biggest issue would be finding someone willing to pay the price. but i think its in the neighborhood of $7,500. correct me if im wrong guys but i have been focusing more on the 4 eyes, so i might be off by a little. and that is assuming your motor/drivetrain/tranny are all original...

Of coarse book value doesn't really matter, but I paid $4200 for my vert and the bluebook was around $3800. The seller was asking $5500 for several months and went down to $5K and I talked him down to $4200 because of little things needing to be fixed. And I have seen a lot of foxes for sale on craigslist and they start high and end up lowering the price $2K to sell. But if you are patient, the right person will come along who wants it. I want a second fox ( hatch or coupe), but can't afford it right now, and there are a few out there that I have been watching come down. The economy doesn't help right now either...

Blue Book is the LOW side, it's basically what a dealer would BUY a car for. Red Book is what the dealer would sell for so Blue Book value can be a little misleading.
I would say research the local market for the body style and see what they're going for.

Wow, you guys are WAY off on your values! $7500, $4200?!?!?! It has 170k on the odometer! This car might fetch about $2500 IF it was immaculate inside, had a professional paint job and not Earl Shibe and was garage kept all it's life. The only way to gauge what it's worth is to see what other people have paid for their cars in the same basic condition/mileage. Any kind of book that says what your car is worth is useless to all but the insurance companies-books never reflect real world market conditions, which right now aren't being helped by the economy.

Thats funny, I sold a 92, LX (stock other than lowering setup) w/ 164,000 and factory paint recently for $4000 and two sets of Cobra wheels. The guy wanted it so bad that he didnt even let me fix the high idle issue. Id buy this car for $2500 right now. Besides, have ya priced a paint job lately?

I just sold my 90 gt conv. in my profile for $2500 and # 8 cylinder was getting blow by I told the buyer this and told him that it smoked also my gt had bout 165,000 miles on it. With that being said I would think you could ask 4,000 to 4,500 for yours if it has no problems.

I'd say the 4-5,000 range. The book doesn't mean squat as to what our cars are really worth.you should get somewhere in that ballpark with no problem.

These cars are becoming very hard to find in near stock survivor condition and even though the car has 170k on it i think that as long as it was not beaten to death then the milage does not matter. I have driven fox body mustangs with under a 100k that were ragged to hell and back and cars with 200k that were taken care of and i would always buy the 200k car first.

im with "90 stock stang" mods are what drop the values quick, like i said my 84 5.0 is getting closer to the $10k value. bone stock all original no mods and unmolested. original paint. heck i even have the original TRX wheels and tires from 84. so the longer your car stays stock the better!
