If I'm not using it for work, I can get 250 or so mixed driving per tank.

ive had it up over 300 per tank on long highway trips.

using it for work, which involves a lot of idling...like 200. :(

i was checking alot last summer and always getting 300+ to a tank. i havent checked for a while now, and my city driving is more like country roads mostly, but alot of big hills and curves which doesnt help.
since i put the mycolor cluster in i havent checked it up against the info center, which i dont think is too acurate, but its in the ballpark i think.i have noticed that switching back to 87 for the winter i`m getting less than the 91 race tune did, and letting the car warm up all the time in the cold is hurting it too. idling is a mpg killer. my dd to work every day is getting 19-22, depending on the foot, i dont do much highway but i`d say around 25-28

get a new fuel filter. they are notorious for doing that on our car.

my story =) lol

45000 miles car got about 220 per tank
at around 50000 miles the car got 180 per tank. at this point i was like o_O!!!!

took car in for a service, and in that service they replaced the fuel filter. a soon as i got the car back it was better. now i get 280-300 miles per tank when i do 50-50 city highway.

ive heard the fuel filter should be changed every 30k miles

I drive about 32 miles each way back and forth to work. About half that drive is Highway 60mph average (not freeway) driving. The other half is in the city, stop and go traffic. My average MPG. is about 21. Sometimes it's as high as 23mpg. and others it's 20 mpg. I check it at every fill up. And I usually always get close to 300 miles or more out of a tank. My car is an 07 with about 44,000 on it. I replaced the fuel filter@ 30,000 and use full synthetic motor oil. Occasionally I will get the speedo up around 100 when passing on the open highway but right back down to about 62 after I am around the cars I'm passing. I don't take off real fast at stop lights but I don't baby it either.

I was getting 24-25 a tank from city and highway combined. Now it's way down in the 21 range even though I'm not doing anything differently. :(

That's still well over 300 miles a tank, though. I can scarcely imagine getting less then that like some of you guys are.

So for you guys that are getting 20+ combined mpg, how far is your typical drive and what's your city/highway split?

Are you doing any 1-2 mile short trips too?

my drive to work one way about 22 miles. 10 highway( ave. 70-90mph) and 12 country road( ave. 50mph) i make lot of short trips around town here. ave. mpg around 21.

thats pretty good really. i had a pt cruiser for a while, all new tune up, that pos 4 banger wouldnt get more than 19 driving like a grandma.glad it got totaled and i got the mustang :kooky:

I do some short trip driving in there too. I believe on the times when I do very little extra driving and very little or no warm up time. I probably Average 23mpg. But with warm up times and short run driving it drops down around 20mpg or so. So I drive about 64 ( 32 each way) miles back and forth to work every day. About 30 or so is in the city and 30 or so is on the highway.

I have been averaging about 23 to 24 mpg on all my drives. I drive 27 miles to work with 18 miles of highway and 9 miles of city, but I do not drag race at every light either. I pretty much stick to speed limits with the cruise and slow down gradually when I see a red light coming. The best I got was 27mpg on a trip.

on a good week 16 mpg :bigthumbsup

on a regular week 15 mpg :smirk

when it's warm and there are scantically clad ladies all around...

14 mpg

My stang isn't my DD so mostly the drive is for pleasure but mostly in the city. I just filled it up this past Friday at a local BP with 10% Ethanol....Calculated the mileage (pen and paper method) and I got 21.5 in the city. Not bad considering they are putting Ethanol in the gas.
I'm very satisfied with the mpg. :bigthumbsup

Oh yeah, forgot to mention it is a 5 speed manual.

if it needs to be change ever 30k it looks like i have another 13k left before i change it lol

i think it's just my foot...i took a cr-v home from work for a few days (21 city 27 hwy) and i averaged 16 mpg.

i also live in a suburb of DC so traffic is horrible all the time.
