Local dealer has a 2014 V6 MT that has caught my eye. I think the options are performance package, leather and scoops. I'm not a Mustang guy except I saw Bullitt when it was a new release...

Anyway, if I get serious about buying it I would appreciate a list of things to inspect or bring up in negotiations. First glance it looks great since it's been detailed and it's got summer car type mileage - 12000 miles.

TIA.

I would simply check for deep scratches, door dings, regular exterior stuff. Under the hood on a 2014 shouldn't be too bad. Check the manual tranny for smooth engagement without grinding. Other than that I'm not sure, someone else is probably more apt to answer this question.

However I just wanted to tell you how jealous I am you managed to find a premium performance pack with a 6MT. When buying mine I looked all over for those, and couldn't find anything within 500 miles of me. Ended up with a premium with pony pack and 6MT. All the perf. pack MT's were base models.

going under the assumption you know the usual stuff...the MT's on these are fussy. If it is MT as Red sez check shifting. the gates (L to R) are real narrow. let the centering springs guide you into 3/4th they will when you shift from 2 to 3 just push the shifter fwd it will slot into 3rd on it's own and compensate for them when going into another gear. when you down shift from 6 to 5th if you don't apply pressure to right you won't be the 1st to shift from 6th to 3rd. The clutch needs to be fully depressed when shifting. You want it in writing that it has not been tuned or you MAY have wtty issues. the front underside of the hood has a tendency to corrode look for bubbles. The front LCA's can squeek if it's a manual you really want the 3.31 rear end..look at door jamb there is a code for rear end...google will help you decode it. good hunting

This is a great point, don't know why it slipped my mind as I had mine replaced after I bought it. Odds are they'll go out if they haven't already, so listen for rubbing sounds when going over things like speed bumps. If it's making noise, have them replace the bushings before giving it to you. However, not the end of the world. It's well known to the dealer system and they won't give you any fuss replacing them under warranty. Not a deal breaker.

True, same with any performance car, but since it's a 2014, it's not like that's an unusual mileage.

Yep. I've had my 2011 since May 2010. I have 26,000 miles on it :)

Definitely check for mods and my 12 had a bad rattle in back which was worn sway bar mounts - warranty fixed those and paint peeling off of steering wheel switches
