Haynes repair manuals don't count. No offense, but they're very generic. If you want the real deal, grab this..........................................

This is the true Ford factory service manual along with the EVTM. Both are invaluable and will answer any and every question about your car. These are the printed manuals Ford factory service techs used before everything went to CD.
In my opinion, each one serves a different group of people. The Haynes manuals are perfectly fine for people with higher than intermediate mechanic skills because at that level, you should already know how each component works and it's relationship to the rest of the car. That way you're not relying on it for step by step instructions, just as a reference for adjustment specs, component locations on different vehicles etc. The Ford manuals are good if you're learning as you go, people with general-beginner level skills. That's just my opinion though :bigthumbsup

So Ford factory technicians are beginners?

i have one of these and let me tell you these things are bigger than a phone book and the pages are thinner too.
I was talking about your average do-it-yourselfer with limited automotive knowledge and experience.

I'm looking for one on CD or online also. I will let you know if I find one. I would rather be able to print out a couple of pages take it into the garage with me then taking a whole book to get dirty and messed up.

Well... I can't guarentee the 1993/1994 FSM content.. the CD ISO is available though PM is you want to give it a try... I have it zipped to a 360mb download.

Got your PM.. 1989 didn't have a computerized version of the FSM, the only ones you'll find for 1989 is the paperback versions.
The first CD version was 1992.. it's for cars and trucks.
1993 through 2001 cars were seperated from trucks on two CD's.
1992 there was a strange CD that covered some cars and some trucks.
The DVD versions started in 2001 with all consumer vehicles on one DS-DVD.

I started with my dads old Motor books.
But I love growing into a factory manual. Buy it and it will serve you well. Some FM are not as good as others in the way they are laid out (talking about from different car companys.)

I know this is an old thread but has anyone found a digital manual of any type for a 1990? It seems that no one has them anywhere. I am just exhausting my resources at this point. I don't care what version it is but I need one. I hate the paper manuals cuz I always get them dirty. I can always just wipe the crap off of my computer or phone. lol. its a 1990 LX 5.0. thanks!
