I rented a GT Premium for a few days, it was a 2015 with 30K miles already on it. I think some renter before hit a curb hard, I see the side panel all busted up under the car, and as I drove it on the highway with no wind, it seemed very loose to steer unless that is normal... I had to select "comfort" drive mode to make the steering feel stiffer, not sure if that is the correct behavior of comfort steering mode.

I have a Ford Fusion 2011 currently and my leather is soft and does have lines already on driver side bolster due to use, even I use lexol conditioner/cleaner and still maintain it. I noticed that in the 2015 Mustang, the leather seemed to look practically new and I am sure renters do not always care much for a rental and not condition it.

I like the idea if it is some sort of vinyl for longevity, is it 100% leather the lower seat bolsters and side, or some new type of hybrid leather that appears to age very well and still look sturdy. The texture reminds me a lot of vinyl. I am looking at possibly getting a GT / CS where the inserts will be miko.

My 2012 5.0 had leather and the side bolsters scuffed very easy with in weeks of owning the car, I chalk it up to there using cheaper leather or something now :-(

That is what I was wondering, I have seen the softer leather on the pre 2015. the 2015+ are using some mix or type that acts more like vinyl and doesn't chalk up. I think I did not look too carefully at the insert (the heat/cooling) section, that might turn out to be the only leather part. so the bolsters are now vinyl as well as seat back perhaps.

11-14 Mustang "Leather" interiors are actually vinyl. Not one bit of it is actual leather.....and I'd guess the same goes for the 15+ cars.

My 2012 "Leather" seats are showing serious wear from getting in and out. I would hope the 2015+ cars are using higher quality vinyl than in the past.
