yeah i'm thinking about ordering the hood from steeda and having them ship it to a local ford dealer to have it painted. to paint it i was told by the ford dealer it would be about 400ish

I have the street version, no race was available.
And mine came slightly used, already painted my color for 300 :D

You cant tell the difference in the hoods really aside from the 1 or 2 rear openings.
And I believe they are both heavier than the stock
Fiberglass weighs much more than aluminum, pound for pound.
I know mine weighs more than the stocker thats for sure.

And those stripes do look pretty darn good in that second post, second pic!

i called steeda a few days ago to order the race hood, but they were out of stock on them. they said they should get it in sometime later in the week so who knows...is there a lip on the cowl part closes to the windsheild they sorta hangs off the hood?

although the performance side of this hood sounds nice, i'm mostly into how it looks. maybe i'll just go with the street version :headscratch:

Best side view pic I have. But yes, there's an overhang towards the windshield.

Mine is a Kaenan. I have been told that is the same company that Steeda gets theres from. But I dont know for sure so don't quote me...lol. I have had mine next to one and you cant tell the difference. Mine is functional with the vent on the cowl. The fit and finish is awesome and its a couple hundred less than the Steeda. Call these guys and ask for Danny. He is a good friend of mine and tell him Brian sent you. Here is a link to their site with the hoods on it. Mine is a 3 inch.
