I am new to the forum and just got a 2019 5.0 GT convertible. Beautiful car

My issue is that I live in the US but the car is Canadian and the digital speedometer default is in KPH. I would like to change the readout to MPH. I can get the sub readout to show MPH, but the main gauge shows kilometers per hour.

is there a way to change this? Is there a way to use Forescan to do it?

Amy help anyone can give would be appreciated.

Thanks so much.

Have you called your salesman? If it's a recent purchase, he or she should be happy to answer your question.

IIRR, if you go online and check for the owners manual, it is a simple button/touchscreen type control that switches it from MPH to Klm

I don't have a digital speedometer, but you can change from miles to kilometers, Degrees F to C, and Tire pressures to PSI from the menus on the information display and the arrow buttons in the steering wheel on the 2016 model.

Mine is located from the main menu in settings:

Settings> Display Setup > Distance (choose either Miles or Kilometers)

Settings> Display Setup > Temp (choose either Degrees F or C)

Settings> Display Setup > Tire pressure (choose your preferred method)

That should do it for you.

Thanks for your reply. I am able to do all the things you note. However With the digital speedometer, the main speedometer still reads in kilometers and a small digital readout below it shows miles per hour. I am struggling to find a way to get the main speedometer to show miles per hour.

My apologies for posting my question in two different forums. I didn’t realize that I had done that. Sorry.

Thanks to all of you who replied. The km/mile button does change some displays as some of you have noted. What happens is a small digital readout below the main speedometer shows miles per hour while the main speedometer stills show KPH. I am struggling to find a way to get the main speedometer to show miles per hour.

That is why I was wondering if there was some sort of firmware update to change the default settings. Anyone heard of such a thing?

When I bought my 2018, which also from canadia, I researched this also. Bottom line, you have to have a new display installed. Ford, for some reason, had them made in four flavors, automatic imperial, automatic metric, manual imperial, and manual metric. I purchased a one year subscription for ForScan, and was able to turn off the daytime running lights, (not the tri-bars) that canada requires.

This is unfortunately 100% correct from my understanding of seeing this question a few times on the forums...
