Just picked up bbk longtubes and I needed a shorty midpipe so I picked up the same guys bbk catted h pipe both for 180. But I really wanted an offroad, how hard is it to gut cats? I will have the longtubes and bbk h pipe catted with flows super 44's, will it be queit? I want something atleast decently loud, I have an offroad x on now with the stock manifolds. Also how much power difference will it be between the offroad x, and the catted bbk h pipe? thanks

I just did long tubes and stage 1 camshafts with my PI swap along with shorty offroad H pipe and SLP loudmouths. It sounds great but a little to loud for where I live which is the state of California. I have to change them. I have no choice on this but if I had to I would keep the sound it sounds great.:bigthumbsup. As for power difference, having no catts frees up a few HP not a whole not.

Sale the catted midpipe & pick up an offroad...you may be able to make a little cash out of it. 180 is a really good price for a catted midpipe for long tubes. I don't think a new offroad for long tubes is much more then that.

Actually I meant I got BOTH the longtubes and midpipe for 180, so a heck of a deal. Yes sounds like I will sell the catted h and buy an off road one. thanks guys

I actually have the same setup (bbk long-tubes, BBK h-pipe with cats, and the flowmaster american thunder catback) and it is very loud. The cats make the yearly inspection process a whole lot easier. In many states if you don't have cats you will fail inspection.
