Hey guys I want to change one of my cars 12 volt power outlets to be switched on when the car is on instead of always on like they are now. Has anyone does this in a newer mustang? I've done some research and found some info on other cars but am looking for a more specific how to for newer mustangs. Any help would be appreciated.

you would need to grab the accessory wire from the ignition switch to trigger a relay. Run 12+ acc to pin 86..ground to pin 85..cut your 12+ constant wire at the cig lighter plug...run the car side to pin 30..run plug side to pin 87..This will allow power to be sent through the relay only when the acc is turned on, and will draw power from the original wire. you can pick up a bosch single pole/single throw (SPST) relay at any auto parts store. No need to fuse anything since the original power input to the cig lighter is fused at the pass side fuse box.

Ok thank you for your help I'll probably grab the 12volt acc off the radio.
