Just wondering what you pay for an oil and filter change if you have your Ford Dealer do it?

I had mine done today and first let me say I am not complaining just wondering what it costs in other states. Did not want to do it myself, and while I could have saved a little bit I am fine with the total cost.

2012 GT 2,777 miles.

8 quart's 5w20 at $3.65 each = $29.20.
1 Ford Racing oil filter $19.95.( this is an upgrade over the standard filter )
Labor $9.95.
Massachusetts sales tax $3.16
Misc. charges $1.46.
Coffee $0.0
Total $63.74

I just got mine done this last week, and it cost me $52 although it was a standard filter...

My dealer runs about 50 bucks. The reason I will do my own changes is the fact the dealership kids like to see how much oil they can leave on the undercarriage. I figure if I have to get under the car and remove the panel to wipe the oil off, I might as well do it myself.

I am amazed how small the filter is on these cars.

I haven't done my dealership, but the local place I trust with my cars is (if I remember correctly) $54 for and oil change, and I believe that is with a blend, not full synthetic, so I would say $64 is about right. Actually, not bad with the upgraded filter and being the dealership.

$0.00 (I have the maintenance plan on both 'Stangs).

The F150 usually ran about $30+ tax, we were members of the dealers preferred customer deal, so we were always getting $$ knocked off the total bill, and sometimes had coupons that got us even more knocked off on top of that.

Has anyone ever taken your Mustangs to one of these quick lube places? Would you trust your '13 Mustang to them? Would they have the 5W-20 blend or synthetic? If you have used them, what was the cost? Other cars I have taken there usually run about $25, but that is with fewer quarts of non-synthetic 10W-30.

I've heard too many stories of wrong oil used, caps left off, etc from the quick lube places to trust them with mine. I would always wonder if they really used full synthetic or even the right oil weight. I only change mine myself with Mobil-1.

What is the major difference in the conventional Ford oil filter and the racing version?
FORD RACING HIGH PERFORMANCE OIL FILTERS Synthetic-Polymer/Cellulose-Fiber blend media.
Heavy gage base and canister for higher burst strength and impulse fatigue resistance
High quality silicone anti-drain back valve
Non-stick sealing gasket for ease of installation and removal
Long life with standard and synthetic motor oils
Up to 50% more filtering capacity then standard filters
Improved filtering efficiency
This technology is only available through Ford Racing Performance Parts.
Can be used in many FL500 applications

The dealership near me has a "Quick Lane" oil change facility for the minor services. My father-in-law uses it for his 2012 Edge and says they do a good job. I took my 2013 Track Pack in for an oil change. They did not have the required 5W-50, but were able to pick up 8 quarts from the dealership (which is less than 4 miles away).

Total charge was $102.45! The oil itself was $9.90 /quart. Even the tech performing the service was shocked at the price. Here is the cost breakdown:

Labor: $10.20
Oil filter: $5.75
Oil (5W-50): $79.20
Shop Supplies: $0.82
Tax: $6.48
TOTAL $102.45.

I looked to find 5W-50 oil cheaper for DIY, and the prices seemed to be on-par with Ford's price.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! facepalm.gif

Do not take your car there unless you want to be charged outrageous prices for synthetic oil, and then have some baboon underfill your motor with regular old **** oil anyway - cause you know, "Most cars take 5 qts"

Can you check and see what the filter number is on your car? I looked at the ford racing website and the filter they show for the FL500 is the FL820. If I am able to use the bigger filter by switching to the ford racing filter, that would be awesome.

Not at home for several days but from the FRPP site. CM-6731-FL820 but with out the WO in front of me not 100% it is the same one.

Anything else need replacing when doing it yourself, except oil and filter? Do any of you replace the crush washer on the drain plug at each oil change? On other vehicles, I always just keep reusing the crush washer.

From my WO.CM*6731"FL820 (FL820) Ford Racing Oil Filter.

I don't trust anybody to change the oil in my car. That being said it costs $5.99 for the filter (FL820s) and walmart has M1 extended performance full synthetic for $27 for a 5 qt jug. Total cost is $49.19 plus 7% tax per each 8qt change.

I understand if some people live in an apartment and need someone else do an oil change, but if you have your own garage put your big girl panties on and do it yourself.
