I got a p0357 code today I need to know what cylinder ignition coil 'G' is? The list of codes I have go from Ignition A-L. That's 12 P0351-P0362. My thinking is A for cyln. 1 G being cylinder 7. Am I on the right track in my thinking?:headscratch:
I found out that G would be cylinder 7, I also got a p0358 code about a week ago reset dtc code p0358 did not return. could the codes 357 & p0358 just be due to a misfire or something simple or is this an indication that my coils are breaking down and need replacing?I got a p0357 code today I need to know what cylinder ignition coil 'G' is? The PCM is not receiving a valid ignition diagnostic monitor (IDM) code from cylinder #7 COP. Could be a damaged/failing coil or wiring/harness problem.
Those harness wires are pretty delicate. I've already broken two.wiring/harness problem...dont like the sounds of that. Sure hope it is just the coil.
I am about to go and look at mine but does your wiring from the coil run into any of the wiring from your s/c?Those harness wires are pretty delicate. I've already broken two.
No, not at all.I am about to go and look at mine but does your wiring from the coil run into any of the wiring from your s/c?
Oh, ok. yeah mine are all bundled in a main harness. Odds are it's the coil that's failing. Move it to another cylinder and see if the code changes.great cause mine do...the wiring harness that carries all the ignition wires, injector wires and who knows what else are all bundled into one harness...sure do hope it is the injector. Guess I could always take your advice and move the coil to another cylinder to see if a different code pops. Why is the malfuntion/error so intermitent? What could cause this sort of failure?
