I got a p0357 code today I need to know what cylinder ignition coil 'G' is? The list of codes I have go from Ignition A-L. That's 12 P0351-P0362. My thinking is A for cyln. 1 G being cylinder 7. Am I on the right track in my thinking?:headscratch:

I found out that G would be cylinder 7, I also got a p0358 code about a week ago reset dtc code p0358 did not return. could the codes 357 & p0358 just be due to a misfire or something simple or is this an indication that my coils are breaking down and need replacing?

I am going through the same thing with coil H. I just recently had a Whipple installed and noticed it about two weeks ago. I have gone back to Livernois to ask them and touch up the tune. It always comes back on the same coil. I came to the same logical conclusion that you did being that the error codes for this problem start at P0351 (A) and go up. I asked the guys at the shop and they confirmed my reasoning but one of the more knowledgeable guys on this forum told me that mine was cylinder no. 5....not sure on that one. I am going to head down to the parts department next time I throw the code and replace the coil. I have seen guys replace their ignitions with the LS1 ignition since the Ford product is crap.

I went on the internet and there was another ford forum and the person had p0357 and tuner he used said it was cylinder 7. so I'm going with A for 1 and so forth.

The PCM is not receiving a valid ignition diagnostic monitor (IDM) code from cylinder #7 COP. Could be a damaged/failing coil or wiring/harness problem.

wiring/harness problem...dont like the sounds of that. Sure hope it is just the coil.

great cause mine do...the wiring harness that carries all the ignition wires, injector wires and who knows what else are all bundled into one harness...sure do hope it is the injector. Guess I could always take your advice and move the coil to another cylinder to see if a different code pops. Why is the malfuntion/error so intermitent? What could cause this sort of failure?

Oh, ok. yeah mine are all bundled in a main harness. Odds are it's the coil that's failing. Move it to another cylinder and see if the code changes.
