DIRECT BOLT-IN

The aluminum one piece driveshaft is a great way to improve driveshaft strength and reduce rotating weight. This driveshaft is rated to 900 HP. By eliminating rotating mass you are going to improve horsepower, torque, and reduce drag racing elapsed times. Dynotech has 80 years of balancing experience and currently builds driveshafts for IHRA, NHRA, Nascar, and Busch racing series vehicles. You will find less expensive aluminum driveshafts available but none come close to the experience used to manufacturer the Dynotech driveshaft. This driveshaft is a direct bolt in design unlike some of the less expensive shafts. Simply un-bolt your factory driveshaft and bolt in this driveshaft.

They have some 96 year old (assuming he started when he was 16) guy balancing drive shafts? :smartass:

I have the dynotech and really like it. Car pulls vibration free all the way to 140 mph. The stock POS 2 piece started vibrating around 100mph.
Just installed my Dynotech drive shaft yesterday, and I am really happy with it. It is a high quality peice. The stock 2 peice driveshaft was a pain to get off/out.

I read somewhere that this is the drive shaft that is used on the SuperSnake!

Is there a automatic trans option???

I had one of these in my 2005 GT automatic. I had tried 3 other shafts from Spydershaft that all had bad runout and vibration issues. I then purchased this one and it worked great. I drove the car for 3 years with this with 1.72 60ft times and 12.00 @ 114 MPH 1/4 mile time. I highly recommend this one. I also had one in my 1997 T-bird that had a supercharged Mustang 4.6L, again no problems.

How much weight is shed compared to the stock pieces?

Oh, and please tell me that's COMBINED experience...:winks

Would I need an adjustable upper control arm so I can set the correct pinion angle, or does it just bolt in with no changes?

I'm assuming that these would void the powertrain warranty?
Purchasing these cars voids the warranty.. No but seriously I'm pretty sure it would void claims on anything from the transmission back. Just save the OE driveshaft in case anything happens.

If your drive shaft upgrade is to support a boosted application, I spoke with Edelbrock, and the powertrain warranty offered with their e-force will not be voided by one of these or an exedy or McLeod clutch, or an MGW shifter. Just no CAI, LTH, high flow cats or custom tune. I figure i will be able to live with high 400's at the wheels for the duration of that warranty if I go that route. Once that is up, i can throw on a tune and a smaller pully and it would once again be a whole new experience. :bigthumbsup

I am installing mine this weekend. How long did it take you and do you have any tips? I will be under jack stands.

Thanks

Oh wow, kudos to Edelbrock for being reasonable with their warranty coverage. That should help to win them a few customers who are on the fence. Yeah, I think it would take me a while to get bored with high 400's at the wheels. Especially because you can slowly add the drivetrain mods throughout the term of the warranty.

I was at my local Ford dealer yesterday getting a new lug nut key, seeing that the original one that came with the locking lug nuts is a cheap POS… 25 bucks for new one…
Any way… I was talking to the service tech about different mods on the 2011/2012 Mustang GT and out of all that I mention… he said the aluminum drive shaft was the safest mod you can do on the cars with voiding the warranty…
I know this is swimming in everyone’s head…
He started laughing when he was mentioned the guy that brought his car in for oil consumption with a Boss intake on the car but never went into detail…
He said if it is the direct result of the part failure… warranty gone…

Does anyone have the instructions for swapping the drive shaft out with this one?
