Let me start by saying that I have not checked the oil level yet. On my drive home I noticed that my oil pressure gauge was moving a lot. I also heard a bit of valve train noise at a couple of stop lights. I will be checking the level as soon as I the car cools a bit and the oil returns to the pan.

The motor is a 95 Cobra R 351W 11.2 CR, GT40 aluminum X and X 303 cam. 5 to 10 k on the motor the car is 89 fox. The specs are what the last owner told me as I bought the car this way 6 weeks ago. I did an oil change less that 2K ago with Mobil 1 10-40w.

Symptoms:
Oil pressure drops under acceleration then comes back up but still under normal. I have an autometer gauge and normally its 50-60 psi at cruise or accel.

I hoping the noise I heard was from the lifter. I assume “keyword” J since they are hydrolic they are starving for oil. I had an old Audi that used to tick when low on oil and had hyd. Lifter.

Any ideas?

Sounds like not enough oil in the crank case and/or an oil pump going out. The oil pressure gauge and valve train noise is likely related to each other as result of not enough oil pressure. When the oil level get's too low or not enough oil pressure the lifters are the first to indicate this by making increased noise (hydraulic lifters are not able to maintain their tolerances without proper oil pressure).
