Flat toeing a Mustang

I am going to pick up another Mustang this weekend and I have access to a tow dolly. I'm wondering if it is safe to flat tow it. It has a t5 5 speed. Thanks.

Put it in neutral is okay on a manual trans, if you are going along ways say 1000 miles I would drop the drive shaft, and seal the trans shaft with some plastic sheeting and tape. Or put the rear wheels on the dolly, and tie the steering wheel so the fronts are straight ahead. Good Luck.

you're not *supposed* to pull any rwd car on a dolly but i've done it many times with no issues, so you should be fine. just put it in neutral.

Just to be safe drop the driveshaft it doesn't take a lot of effort to do it.......

It doesn't hurt a 5 speed to tow it in neutral. The reason you don't do it with an auto is because the tranny won't be pumping fluid so it will over heat. A manual in neutral is only spinning the main shaft on the soaked bearings, won't hurt it a bit. I wouldn't drop the shaft. The only problem you may encounter is if the rear end is shot.

Edit- For the record, NEVER tow a car backwards if you enjoy life.
