Is there a part of foxbody mustang that is impossible to get as an original part or original replacement part? Some day there will be restorers who want to restore fox to totally original-like condition.

Or parts that everybody gets rid of immediately after getting a mustang and nobody wants them anymore and they just get lost.

For example there are tons of different lower rear control arms with urethane or more exotic bushings but i have never seen anywhere any type of arms with rubber bushings not to mention original type control arm like the upper control arms that can be had from almost any partstore??

the only one that comes to mind are factory bumper covers with
with embossed "Mustang"

I'm in dire need of a trunk latch for a 92 hatch...dont make them anymore, can't find a good one in a junk yard, and as far as i know, the only one that will work for me was from a 92 or 93...

If anyone knows where to order one from let me know...

I haven't found anywhere hatchbacks cargo cover curtain's bracket (gray). Mines broken and the cover keeps falling on trunk floor.

The other part was air pump system's check valve with threaded end. I ordered replacement from parts store but it had 3/4 inch thread and mine was 15/16 inches. Called back to store and they tried to find everywhere but all were with 3/4 thread. Luckily i found a fitting new valve on swap meet last sunday!

Air silencer...seriously who still runs one of these? I would bet on pretty much no one...

The cargo covers aren't being made anymore, you have to go with used.

The air silencers are usually converted into homes for the mouse in the garage, they're not made anymore.

The column covers, with the 3 screw style. The air bag style is 1 screw and they're still able to be found. The 3 screw style is getting hard to find.

Interior hatch panels for the early models, I can't remember what year they are but they were changed when the rear shoulder belts were used. The years without the rear shoulder belts like 87-89, the hatch interior panels aren't made anymore. I just cannot remember what year the panels were changed.

The useless console tray that goes beneath the factory radio.

As far as the bumper covers, I couldn't find any supplier for the 87-93 lx rear bumper cover at all. It's listed on a few websites but when I tried to order it I couldn't.

I also can't find 87-93 coupe trunk liners that cover the lights and the inside of the rear quarters.

I'm glad that was pointed out, that the 1989 has the rear shoulder belts, my 1988 doesn't. So now we have the year things changed over. :bigthumbsup

There are a whole bunch of parts that you can't find for Foxes anymore. Try finding a new solenoid cover for 86-89 5.0L. In 90 they were changed to include the notch for the coil wire. Body side moldings for pre-87, SVO, 84-1/2 20th anniversary cars are not around anymore. New or NOS fuel rails for a 5.0L are hard to find. Anyone tried to buy a Marchal fog lamp or new covers for them? As a person restoring an 86 GT hatch I've run across a lot of things that are just not around anymore. Fortunately, I have most of the parts I need to complete the restoration, but some of the items on the car I'd replace with new if I could find them.

Hey... why do you gotta hate on my taillights... lol. They kinda grew on me since I got the car, but I'm pretty sure they will be gone as soon as the car gets painted.

As far as useless parts go... How about the stock alternator, why do they even still offer that thing :nono:. And unless you live in california, the smog pump....

Dont forget the fuel hose connectors from the body to the intake, cant remember what they are called? The first time I yanked a moter from my 89 I cut them and later found out that Ford stop making them a long, long time ago and that was a long long time ago
