Quick question, just bought my 2013 v6 last night, :D first mod will be axlebacks, i am surprised at how good the stock setup sounds in the cabin, outside the car not so much. For you FRPP owners are they basically just similar to the stock sound but much louder? Thanks.

Uh oh another axle back-fart can thread, don't do it! Of course I'm going to say keep the stock mufflers on the 3.7 v6. If your driving a new GT or any v8 powered mustang, get a performance exhaust on that sucker and let it roar!

idk where your getting fart can from... but i have borla touring and its great.. not a fart can.

I've got the frpp sport axle backs and am very happy with them. Tips are just the right size. The sound is as good as it gets for a sixxer inside and out imo.

They are more expensive than others for sure but are less prone to rusting and have a much more refined sound.

Congrats! I recommend the FRPP Sports as well. That's what I ended up getting and I absolutely love them. Although then again MAC just released their V6 axlebacks so you might wanna look into those. I know any MAC exhaust I've heard on a V6 or V8 Mustang I've heard sounds sick!

Just because it has a V6, we can't want to make it sound better/louder? There are a ton of other hi-po 6-cyl cars on the market (which, BTW, the Mustang V6 stomps on price for performance). No one claims fart-can when 3 series Bimmers, 350/370z, Hi-un-die Genesis, or other 6-cyl performance cars have aftermarket exhaust.

Sorry to hijack.

Although I didn't buy FRPP axlebacks, I did consider them among my choices. They sell the "Touring" and the "Sport," both made by BORLA (But are not the same as the Borla products of the same names). The Touring is 50 state legal and the Sport is 49 state legal (Not CA) due to the louder exhaust note. There have been a lot of reports, here and on other Mustang boards, of the Borla and FRRP axlebacks accumulating water in the mufflers. A lot of people have drilled "weep holes"(Should fix the water accumulation issue) in both brands of mufflers - as well as some others - to drain out the water and minimize the effect on the sound and the longevity of the axlebacks. American Muscle has some of the best "comparison" video recordings of the axlebacks. Not the best fidelity, but useful for relative comparisons on loudness and exhaust note.

That's the problem, putting these exhausts on it does not make sound better, just louder and not a good loud in my opinion.

I guess its all subjective but the frpp exhaust sounds far better (and yes louder) than the stockers imo. Every single red blooded male that have heard my car before and after have had nothing but good to say about it. These are friends and coworkers from teenagers to 50+.

The only exception is my wife but she also cant stand ANY car thats louder than her mazda 3 even if its a done up v8 or italia 458 with loud pipes.:yelwacko:

To each their own. I personally like the FRPP Sport, but that is my opinion. And we all know about opinions....they're like ***holes, everybody has one. :heha:
