:yelwacko: Welcome to AFM. Great forum! You can learn a lot here.

It's kind of difficult to answer your question without a picture. If you own a digital camera, pics are pretty easy to post. If you need help with that, let us know.

Sick gave you a pretty good thread. It contains diagrams, pics, and some detailed explanations. I gave you some pics of a stock wheel and steering column from my 65 which should be the same as yours. Compare yours and see if it helps you figure out what you have. Post back and let us know what you find. :winks

Keep this exploded view handy when you start your project.

Good luck!

Guess I should have read the previous post. It contains the same diagram along with other really good stuff. Oh well, nothing wrong with redundancy!:D

Referring to the first pic you posted, get a steering wheel puller and remove the adapter that's on your column. It's probably what the PO put on to use the Grant Wheel. Then take a pic of the column and lets see what it looks like.
Refer to my pic below. Want to make sure all the components are still there. If they're not, they're easily obtainable from any Mustang supplier.

Also, is your stock steering wheel original or a reproduction? If it's stock, it sure looks in pretty good shape. Let us know.
